April 19, 2008:
"Writing for Love and Money" workshop with NWU Book Division co-chair Charlotte Dennett and NWU-Boston co-chair Barbara Beckwith at the New Hampshire Writers Day, University of Southern New Hampshire, Manchester, NH.
April 26, 2008:
"Contracts 101" workshop with contract/grievance advisers Barbara Mende and Shirley Moskow at Grub Street's 7th annual "Muse & the Marketplace" literary conference at the Parker Omni Hotel, Boston, MA.
August 17-22, 2008:
Co-Chair Charles Coe gave his renowned seminar, "Writers Reading their Work in Public," and spoke on the social and political role of poets in the community at the Cape Cod Writers Center annual conference.

March 29, 2009:
"Make Money From Your Writing: How to Negotiate Money and Rights with Editors" with Sue Katz, E. Jeanne Harnois and Shirley Moskow at the Center for New Words' "Women Action & Media" conference at the Stata Center at M.I.T., Cambridge, MA.

"The Writers Life" 4-session series co-sponsored with Cambridge Center for Adult Education, hosted by NWU-Boston Co-Chair Charles Coe. Series Adviser: Yleana Martinez. A collaborative annual series co-sponsored by the NWU and the Cambridge Center for Adult Education.
April 9, 2009:
Member Ruth Nemzoff, author of Don't Bite Your Tongue: How to Foster Rewarding Relationships with your Adult Children, spoke on the subject of promoting your creative work at the Brandeis Women's Studies Research Center.
April 29 and May 6, 2009:
Steering committee member and national NWU treasurer E. Jeanne Harnois spoke on pursuinng a freelance writing career, and took part in a panel discussion on the state of the newspaper industry, at the "First Amendment and the Media" class at Harvard's Extension School.
